Welcome to Woolton Hill Junior School
DREAM. BELIEVE. ACHIEVE.
Woolton Hill Junior School is set in the village of Woolton Hill, around 4 miles from nearby Newbury and only 300 meters from our sister school, St Thomas' Church of England Infant School.
The school benefits from large open grounds and a tranquil village setting.
We believe that education is a partnership between home and school; it is about sharing the same expectations and about everyone working together to achieve the best for your child. We strive to develop effective learning in a stimulating and challenging environment where the needs of each individual are met.
Our children are the heart of our community. We strive to inspire and challenge every child in a nurturing environment so that they will all thrive and become resilient lifelong learners
PREPARING OUR CHILDREN FOR THE MODERN WORLD
Our curriculum and ethos is supported by a set of learning values, carefully chosen by the whole school community. Their aim is to determine our thinking and behaviour around being a successful learner.
Through teaching, learning and upholding the learning values, we are developing a set of skills and attitudes which prepare our children for the modern day world and enable them to be confident, successful and responsible adults with a lifelong love of learning.
Weekly special values assembly, where the children reflect on an aspect of a value within their own and other people's lives
Teachers explicitly teach the 'Value of the week' in their class assembly and following PSHE lessons
Learning values are taught in all areas of the curriculum
Adults in the school ensure that they are role-models for each of the values
