This week in grammar we are looking at persuasive writing devices. Watch the zoom power point, then for your task decide whether you agree or disagree with the statement and give two arguments for your opinion and a conclusion.

D.T: Create an Island Dish

The D.T for this week is based around the island you created last week.  Think about what the national dish of your island would be for example, the nation dish of England is roast beef. Try and make your national dish at home and write the recipe down and take or draw a picture of what it looks like. I can't wait to see all the creative things you come up with.

Dear children,

How are you all?  We hope you and your families are well.  Let's hope for some warmer and sunnier weather this week.

On Friday 8th May, it will be the 75th anniversary of a very important occasion in our British history - VE day.  Our home learning this week will focus on VE day to remember the sacrifices people made for us in the past to improve our futures.

We hope you have lots of fun.   Remember you can email your teacher using the admin office email address: adminoffice@whjs.hants.sch.uk

Missing you all very much,

Science Lesson 2 - Healthy Diets

English Grammar - Inverted Commas

Still image for this video
This week we are learning how to use inverted commas in our written work.

The work which has been set is based on 'The Lighthouse', which we used earlier on in the year.

Please work through the powerpoint slowly as it is an interactive powerpoint. You will need a piece of paper and a pen to use while working through it. This will help you with the task which will need to be completed working through it.

Can you complete the tasks? There is a challenge at the end, can you complete it?

If you would like to practise some more and write some of your own sentences, I have uploaded some word mats and posters to support your writing.

Weekly update - Wednesday 25th March 2020

Dear children,

Hopefully you received a message from your class teacher today via your parent's email.  We hope you are well and keeping busy.

This week, we have created more open ended activities to support your learning.  Please see the attached document for details.

Weekly update - Wednesday 18th March 2020

In the case of school closure or self-isolation, we will continue to update My Maths, Spelling Shed and Times Tables Rockstars.  In addition to these web-based activities, the learning activities below are available to support your child while at home.

Please continue to encourage your child to read for 30 minutes per day, practise their times table facts and spellings.

We will continue to keep this page updated on a weekly basis, on a Wednesday.  Going forward, these will be more open-ended as we realise it may be difficult to print at home.

Kind regards

Lower school team
