More information

WoolFest is back, after a two year break and it’s lining up to be better than ever! The Junior School will open up its grounds to the families of the Woolton Hill Schools to enjoy an evening of live music and some good old-fashioned family fun. Bring your picnic chairs, rugs, blankets, and a torch!

In 2019, we raised over £8,000 at the event, which has provided some important extras our children enjoy as part of their daily school life. So please come and support this annual festival and enjoy a fantastic night with a great cause at its heart.

Helpers

As I am sure you will understand, we need help to run the event. We are therefore asking each family to donate half an hour to help on either the bar, café or entertainment areas. You will be allocated a job and a time slot closer to the day, but it is vital that you arrive on time so we can keep everything running smoothly and relieve the person before you. Please let us know if there are any time slots that you are unable to do on the reply slip.

Drinks

A licensed bar will be open between 5.30 – 10.00 pm selling real ale, lager, bitter, cider, wine and Prosecco, plus we will have a Gin Bar this year! NO other alcohol or drinks are allowed on site.

Supper

Inner Circle, an outside provider, will once again cater for the event. Supper will be available between 6 - 8.00 pm. Please pre-order on the reply slip.

Coffee Shop

The WoolFest Café will be open from 5.30 – 10.00 pm, selling hot and cold drinks, with a complimentary kids’ squash bar. Also available to buy will be a selection of delicious cakes, ice creams, ice lollies, crisps and other snacks.

Music

This year we’re very excited to have a local band called, The MxX performing. Plus DJ Chris Pearce will be keeping us entertained and you can show us your dance moves!

Entertainment

There will be a host of fun activities for you and your family to enjoy. We will have a fantastic range of inflatables - a huge inflatable Party Time Slide. NEW for this year is Hungry Hippos and Basketball Shooter! There will also be face painting available for the children, along with Giant Connect 4. Plus, our Silent Auction.

Toy Stall

The popular toy stall is back and we’ve stocked up on everything our children love to buy!

Additional Information

Toilets: The school will be closed during the event, but portaloos will be available.

Responsibility: We would like to stress that children under the age of 18 years remain the responsibility of their parents/carers and are not permitted to consume any alcohol at all during the festival.

Important: There is a fenced pond area on the site, so please ensure you keep an eye on your children at all times.

We are stressing once again this year that NO glass bottles of any type are allowed in the school grounds due to the fact that we are using the playing field and broken glass would cause a real danger to our children. NO smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere in the school grounds. NO alcohol or drinks not bought at the event are allowed on site.

Ticket Application

The cost is £30 per family (with a maximum of 6 people on one ticket) We’re offering an ‘Early Bird Discount’ for anyone who returns their form by Friday 3rd June. If you return the form and payment by this date, the cost is £25 per family.

Please return the slip to the Woolton Hill Junior School Reception or via the St Thomas’ Infants’ PTA box, with payment for entrance and food orders.

All forms need to be received by Wednesday 15th JUNE at the latest. We will not be able to receive any forms after this deadline.

Please make cheques payable to “Friends of Woolton Hill Junior School”. There is an option to pay online; our bank account details are: Metro Bank, Account no.: 44285207, Sort Code: 23-05-80. Please use the reference WOL(Surname), e.g. WOLGrainger. All online payments must be received by Thursday 16th June.

Included in your ticket price: Unlimited goes on the Giant Party Slide, Giant Connect 4, Face Painting, unlimited squash and entertainment from The MxX and DJ Chris Pearce!

Wet weather plan: In the unlikely event that WoolFest is cancelled due to bad weather, we will refund £10 per Family Ticket. Unfortunately, we will be unable to refund any money for the pre-ordered food.

As always, thanks to all the people who have offered their support, services and copious amounts of time to make this amazing event come together!

We look forward to seeing you there!
